Learn about the Beinecke Scholarship!

Sign up to attend an online information session on Zoom on Monday Dec 22 (register) at 11-11:45am if you want to learn more and have your questions answered.

The Beinecke Scholarship program seeks students who:

  • Demonstrate superior standards of intellectual ability, scholastic achievement, and personal promise during their undergraduate career. This means active research experience for those in academic fields and a record of original creative production for those in creative fields.
  • Plan to enter a research- or creative-focused master’s or doctoral program in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. In most cases this will be a PhD or MFA, rather than a terminal academic Master’s degree. (NOTE: Students in the social sciences who plan to pursue graduate study in neuroscience or clinical psychology should not apply for a Beinecke Scholarship.)

Additionally, to be eligible the student must:

  • Be a college junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree during the 2024-2025 academic year. “Junior” means a student who plans to continue full-time undergraduate study and who expects to receive a baccalaureate degree between December 2025 and August 2026.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
  • Have a documented history of being eligible to receive need-based financial aid during their undergraduate years.

While this session will be aimed primarily at juniors, who will need to decide about whether they will apply by January 8, 2026, sophomores and frosh are also welcome to attend.
