Empowering Kenya’s Youth

On September 19th, the Office for Intercultural Learning is sponsoring an event entitled “Empowering Kenya’s Youth, with Dominic Muasya, Kenya Education Fund.”

With nearly 25 years of experience in both government and in non-governmental spaces, Dominic Muasya is well versed in strategic project management both at the grassroots and international level. Kenya Education Fund (KEF), the organization that he co-founded and currently runs, empowers young people to break the cycle of poverty through education. An impressive over 90% of KEF scholars transition from high school to higher education, a majority of which graduate from university. Over the years, Dom has seen over 4,600 students finish high school, graduate from university, join the job market and now support themselves and their families. Dom is convinced that the next generation should be better than the last in decision and choice making!

KEF programs are funded mostly internationally, but also locally. Through partnerships with reputable schools, institutions of higher learning, like-minded NGO and corporations, this is achieved through scholarships for Basic Education, Life-skills, Mentorship, Higher Education Exploration and Career Readiness.

Join us to learn about Kenya, Dom’s work, and how he and KEF are impacting sustainable change that affects us all through youth empowerment. The event will take place in Fisk 201, The Global Commons, from 4:15 to 5:15 pm on Friday, September 19th. Click here to register for the event on WesNest.
