Wesleyan University Joins Nationwide China Event with George Stephanopoulos, November 18
Friction between the United States and China in politics, security, and trade affect the global community and influence the lives of every American. To encourage wider discussion of how Americans are being affected, leading political commentator George Stephanopoulos will host a special nationwide CHINA Town Hall conversation about key issues, risks and opportunities in the Sino-American relationship, on November 18, 2019, presented by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
Wesleyan University will join more than 75 venues across the country for the program, featuring a panel of leading experts in discussion with ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos via webcast. The panel will be followed on-site conversations about the impact that U.S.-China relations have on the local community, its institutions, and the people themselves.
The national webcast panel will include expert speakers Melanie Hart, Senior Fellow and Director for China Policy, Center for American Progress; Yasheng Huang, Epoch Foundation Professor of International Management and Professor, Global Economics and Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Ely Ratner, Vice President and Director of Studies, the Center for a New American Security; and Stephen Orlins, President, National Committee on U.S.-China Relations.
