Join representatives from the Office of Study Abroad, Financial Aid, and the Wesleyan Resource Center to learn about financial aid, scholarships, and budgeting for your study abroad experience.
Wesleyan University and the Office of Study Abroad believe meaningful cross-cultural experience to be an integral part of a liberal arts education. As such, studying abroad is considered an essential component of achieving the intercultural expertise and multilingualism that our students will need for exercising leadership in an increasingly interconnected world. Central to this mission is to make study abroad as feasible and accessible to all students, as often time students may have misconceptions about accessibility of these programs.
Right to the point, you can afford to study abroad and let us tell you how!
To this end, on Monday, February 17, The Resource Center will host a collaborative event with the Office of Study Abroad and Office of Financial Aid concerning affordability and study abroad. Taking place from 6:30-7:30 PM the presentation will address in detail considerations regarding program costs, provide an overview of the billing process for studying abroad, discuss scholarship opportunities, and answer questions regarding financial aid disbursement.
Key points that will be addressed or reflected on include;
- The mobility of financial aid for semester/year programs
- The Home School Tuition Model and what it means for students
- Not all destinations are the same and how location considerations can impact the affordability of one’s program
- The importance of examining a program’s features; what is included and how can it affect one’s overall experience
- Scholarship opportunities and their applicability
There will also be ample time for interested students to follow up with a Q&A. So come with questions, leave with answers!
Food will be provided for attendees (YAY!)
