Dear Wesleyan community,
As the summer kicks off, I would like to champion Wesleyan’s ‘Worlds of Dance’ Spring (May 2021) concert – now available in a recording for us all to enjoy.
Here is the link to the entire concert: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ED-w4zf2H4
The concert showcases Wesleyan’s magnificent students who performed – with passion, skill and engagement during the COVID-19 pandemic – a full diversity of the global dance styles offered by Wesleyan’s Dance Department. The dept is chaired by our inspiring and eminent colleague and teacher, Prof. Hari Krishnan (Dance/Feminist, Gender and Sexuality Studies Program).
I especially recommend to you the superb dance based on the glorious poetry of 22-year old poet Amanda Gorman (“The Hill We Climb”) at the U.S. presidential inauguration, performed by the Bharatanatyam 2 students (Krishnan, instructor) which is from minute 1:07:06 until 1:20:18.
For more information about our colleague Hari Krishnan’s artistic projects, you can check out his website at https://www.indance.ca/ .
If you enjoy the Dance concert, you can drop Hari a line c/o hkrishnan@wesleyan.edu (or email the FGSS Program and we’ll pass your messages along).
To find out more about interdisciplinary arts at Wesleyan, please also visit the FGSS webpage, where we are highlighting the Dance Dept’s concert in our “News and Highlights” feature as part of the new ‘FGSS engages the arts’ strand.

Hope you enjoy the concert, and the summer.
Sincerely
Jennifer
