International Student Advisory Board (ISAB) informs and advises the International Resource Team (ie. administrative offices on campus) on intercultural programs, services and issues that concern undergraduate and graduate international students at Wesleyan University. The term of board service is one academic year (September 2019 to May 2020).
ISAB is composed of 7-8 current Wesleyan students. The application process, which is open to all students on campus, is competitive and seeks to seat a board that is highly diverse and broadly representative of the university’s international student body. ISAB members meet weekly on Fridays from 12:00-1:30 pm. Applicants must be in good academic and judicial standing to apply.
ISAB Board members Duties (weekly commitment 3 hours/week) :
- Be an accessible and visible resource for the international student community.
- Foster a supportive intercultural learning community among international students.
- Keep the university accountable and responsive to international students and their concerns.
- Act as campus leaders in encouraging discussions, collecting feedback, advocating for the needs, and raising the visibility of international students.
ISAB is NOT a programming board. It’s an advisory board. It’s not a student organization. If you are interested in social activities and programming, join PANGEA, Wesleyan’s international student organization.
