F-1 Reminders & Involvement Opportunities from OISA

Greetings, Global Cardinals!

Please take a moment to read these announcements and reminders from the Office of International Student Affairs (OISA).

For students in F-1 visa status (studying at Wesleyan on an I-20):

  • If you are planning to travel and/or renew your visa over fall/winter break, please read the email we sent to you on Friday, October 15th titled “Traveling over break? Need a new visa? This email’s a must-read!” Visit our Visa & Travel page for additional guidance about international/domestic travel and renewing your visa.

  • If you are graduating this fall, it is important you start to plan next steps for your F-1 status. If you would like to pursue post-graduation employment in the U.S., consider applying soon for post-completion Optional Practical Training (OPT).

For all international students:

  • International Education Week (IEW) at Wesleyan will be November 13-19. Submit an event to be part of the program for this week of events focused on intercultural sharing and learning and celebration of the diverse cultures and identities represented in our campus community! Applications are due by Sunday, October 24th at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Have questions about your F-1 status or other aspects of your international student experience at Wes? Send an email to oisa@wesleyan.edu or join OISA for our virtual advising services via Zoom!
