Apply to be an International Student Orientation Leader

The Office of International Student Affairs (OISA) is looking to hire up to 10 Orientation Leaders (OLs) for the Spring 2021 International Student Orientation.

This opportunity is open to ALL Wesleyan undergraduate students. One does not have to be an international student to apply for this position.

Qualifications: Students from the class of ’21, ’22 & ’23 are eligible to apply and must be in good academic and judicial standing. Successful candidates must be reliable, enthusiastic, and compassionate with good communication skills and a positive attitude about campus life. We expect candidates to be interculturally competent, self-aware, and willing to work with students who speak English as a second language.

Orientation Leaders are expected to:

  • Attend OL training sessions
  • Host at least one virtual small group session each week for 4 weeks (weeks of 1/11, 1/18, 1/25, 2/1) for incoming international students; each small group session should be 60-90 minutes in length
  • Support students during the arrival days (virtually) on 2/5 and 2/6 (help answer questions about Wes, etc.)
  • Support ISO events on 2/7 and 2/8
  • Attend an ISO debrief session

Terms and Benefits:
Period of work: 1/11/2021-2/8/2021
Stipend of $250
Housing and meals (until your meal plan is activated) will be covered.
